The position of Loan Department Manager is responsible for managing the Loan Administration and Loan Servicing teams; ensures accurate and timely servicing of the bank’s loan portfolio; oversees the production of loan documentation relating to the opening, servicing and closing of all loans; ensures loan documents comply with state and federal laws, regulations and bank lending policies and procedures; ensures department activities run smoothly and efficiently; provides leadership, training and supervision within the department; and provides a high level of customer relations and service. The position of Loan Department Manager performs direct supervisory duties of department staff, department staff training, coordinates staff coverage in all related areas of the department and is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of loan administration and loan servicing, including knowledge and use of various software applications required to carry out the duties and responsibilities for loan documentation, preparation and loan servicing. Duties performed by the Loan Department Manager include: Provides direct supervision of the department; oversees activities of Loan Dept and other lending personnel. Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees; conducts specific periodic meetings and presentations on this topic with all staff members. Monitors staff in loan documentation preparation, loan servicing and quality control; ensures the organization of the department, coordinating available resources (e.g., staff, materials, etc.) for maximum results. Implements cost controls for the department and monitors expenses to ensure compliance with budget. Reviews loan documentation for accuracy and completeness as needed, monitors compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and the bank’s lending policies and procedures. Consistently applies superior decision-making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development. Assists Loan Officers, Loan Assistants, compliance department staff, and other bank personnel on department business to coordinate inter and intra-departmental activities; resolves inquiries or issues relating to loan documentation preparation and loan servicing matters; participates in various internal committees assigned by senior management. Assumes responsibility for special projects, gathers data and prepares reports for senior management, audit, and other personnel. Assists staff and management with utilizing computer facilities and resources; provides guidance on usage, resolves minor software inquiries or issues. Plays a major role in staff training, development and growth of department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring a highly cross-trained department. Performs personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions and plans, and interviewing candidates for employment; supervises the daily activities of the department including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules and providing necessary training. Ensures implementation and compliance to meet security precautions and protect customer loans, collateral, bank assets and staff. Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems or inquiries. Develops and writes lending procedures and assists with implementation. Operates computer terminal or personal computer to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority. Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank’s goals and values; benefits the bank through outside activities. Completes or reviews necessary loan schedules for the bank’s quarterly call report. Reviews annual escrow analysis and performs various tasks related to this duty. Calculates and completes the bank’s Loan Administration Fee Return to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts on a quarterly basis. Creates and maintains core processing parameters as they relate to loan accounts. Creates on demand custom reports using IBM Cognos Analytics report writing software. Monthly reviews reconcilement for various Loan Dept accounts. Complete loan account research and provide data related to subpoenas and summons. Compiles data and oversees the annual Federal Home Loan Bank audit Oversee Collateral Tracking platform, create and maintains collateral and credit tracking checklists Completes various tasks associated with Jack Henry core annual upgrade Completes various tasks related to the Jack Henry core end of year processing Compiles reports for various annual audits, HUD, Financial, Loan Servicing, and Consumer Compliance Compiles reports and oversees bi-annual Loan Review audit Compiles reports for Safety & Soundness and Compliance regulatory exams Compiles quarterly Loan Concentration Report for the Board of Directors Compiles monthly Allowance for Loan Loss report for the Board of Directors Complete various tasks associated with the repurchase of mortgage dept investor loans Oversees processes related to the bank’s force place real estate insurance program Monitors and completes tasks associated with force place insurance claims Oversees Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) on quarterly basis and other tasks related to this duty. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of personal computers and data processing systems associated with loan operations is required. Knowledge of automation principles and current software/hardware applications is essential. Intermediate skills using Excel, Word and Power Point. Advanced computer skills including internet operations are required. This job requires the ability to meet established deadlines, work productively in groups and individually, communicate effectively in writing and orally, operate standard office equipment, work extended hours occasionally, and travel to various bank locations and training activities as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
