The Manager, Learning and Development champions performance improvement and career progression for a global workforce of retail sales and management professionals across 90+ cruise ships and regional offices around the world.

The Manager, Learning and Development will also be called on to lead projects from inception to completion as well as manage budgetary allocations within their areas of emphasis. They will also support the Learning and Organizational Development Director in areas regarding strategic and tactical importance as needed.

The Manager, Learning and Development may or may not have direct reports. If they do, the accountability of those positions and responsibilities commensurate will be under their jurisdiction.

What youll be doing:: ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: In partnership with Director, Learning & Organizational Development, assess needs, design, develop, implement and evaluate in person and digital programs. This may include planning and budget responsibilities. The programs within their purview may include but are not limited to: New Hire Welcome Service Culture Product / Brand Knowledge Sales Skills Sales Management Train the Trainer HR Related Topics Leadership Development Partner with corporate and retail office teams including operations, sales, marketing, merchandising, and human resources to assess training needs and skills gaps. Establish evaluation methods and monitor results to ensure effectiveness. Lead work with subject matter experts and third-party providers to design, develop, and deliver programs that meet business needs. Select appropriate training methods or activities and develop training materials utilizing adult learning principles and modern learning practices. Partner with retail management in their role as talent developers. Support retail conferences and regional events to assess and coach talent potential. Consult and assist in creation of development plans. Building career and skills-development programs that enable our team members to grow their career and are customized to meet the needs of both ICs and Management Assessing, reporting, and delivering critical data/metrics related to talent processes to key leaders and stakeholders across the business that measure performance against our established goals Foster employee engagement by acting as community manager for internal online groups and executing internal marketing of training offers. Champion DE&I initiatives and programs and support efforts to ensure an inclusive culture in all aspects of our business

What were looking for:: QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: 5-7 years of training in a fast-paced environment where guest, employee and brand experience are central to the overall business strategy. Ideally experienced as a sales team member or leader before moving into a training role.

CPTD Certification preferred

Demonstrated experience working with a range of individuals from multiple countries and the ability to adjust style to meet the needs of a multi-national audience.

Cruise industry experience is beneficial but not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient with advanced learning content software/platforms Expert facilitation and presentation skills Proficient in MS Office applications Experience with digital learning platforms and learning management systems Ability to travel (40-60%) and work a flexible schedule Decision Making: Makes recommendations and decisions independently.

Some managerial guidance provided.

Relatively high level of individual problem solving ability required.

May participate in some strategy development. Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands: Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
