SALARY: 15.00 - 15.00 Hourly USD

JOB SUMMARY:Supports Stormwater Management staff with enhancing citizen engagement through external and internal communications to promote program goals. This includes participating in the department's social media strategy and efforts to expand department programs and educational activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Writing informational, engaging stories about department activities and topics.
2. Event planning, including collaboration with other City departments.
3. Social media planning and implementation.
4. Research and preparation of internal reports.
5. Updating of internal and external websites.
6. Photography.
7. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Skill in the use of standard PC-based programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with InDesign preferred.
3. Skill in communicating through social media websites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Nextdoor.
4. Strong time management skills.
5. Interest in communications, marketing, or public relations fields.
6. Enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate college program.
7. Ability to operate a motorized vehicle.
Qualifying Education and Certifications
Individual must be able to work 10-20 hours per week with some flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings. Possession of a valid Driver's License (min. Class C).
