About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer Director to join our team at Energix North America. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of utility-scale solar projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering consultants to design solar projects, ensuring compliance with land development, stormwater, erosion, and sediment control regulations.
  • Develop and manage in-house design and development of solar project drawings.
  • Lead the development of new solar sites from concept to testing and production.
  • Oversee project progress and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Review project reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage engineering challenges and coordinate with project consultants and site managers to resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain project engineering requirements and specifications, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of engineering contractors and staff, ensuring they meet project goals and objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate with our in-house electrical engineering team.
  • Maintain effective communication with management, construction teams, subcontractors, vendors, owners, and inspectors.
Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of experience as an engineer, preferably in utility-scale renewable energy on the East Coast.
  • Strong technical understanding of drawings and specifications, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development.
  • Experience with design/build construction and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a team-oriented approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Work Environment

This position will be based in our Arlington, VA headquarters, with occasional travel required throughout Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region (up to 25% of time).
