Job Overview and Responsibilities

* Act as the first Point Of Contact for all the molding, special testing and analytical and characterization requests for Alpharetta.

* Act as a first technical filter and collaborate with the Core Labs, application labs and CTDs in the definition of the details of the tests requested and the project timeline.

* Communicate relevant sample details and project priority to analytical and processing labs.

* Organize the delivery of the samples. Coordinate with the appropriate lab for the processing, machining and testing of the samples to be tested.

* Provide to the requester an expected completion date for the results within three working days from the creation of the request.

* Facilitate communication between analytical and processing labs and internal customers when necessary.

* Perform sample preparation.

* Plan and conduct specialized testing per specific customer requests as appropriate, in agreement with requester and where capabilities exist internally.

* Keep the management tools for the requests updated: compile the request received and add the LabWare requests as needed.

* Manage the requests to other Solvay laboratories in case of tests that cannot be performed in Alpharetta: inform the laboratory, organize the shipment of the samples and collect the

* results.

* For tests that cannot be performed in Solvay laboratories, coordinate with PCL scientists to search external laboratories, get quotations, organize the shipment of the samples and collect the results.

* Monitor the progress of the tests and the needs of the internal customer, facilitating the interdisciplinary exchange between CTDs, technical representatives and other requesters.

* Provide the results of the tests to the requester.

* Other activities as assigned.

Education and Experience

* High School Diploma.

* Degree in Chemistry, Physical Science or Materials Science would be a plus.

* 2- 5 years of experience working in a polymers laboratory (product development, melt processing, analytical and characterization).

* Knowledge of Solvay product line a plus.

* Experience in managing testing requests with LIMS or similar tools and in exchanging information with internal customers.

* Experience in part failure and polymer failure analysis is a plus.
