Position Summary: BBYO is seeking a Senior Accountant for our downtown DC office (preferred) to assist in the daily operations of the accounting department. This is a mid-level position primarily responsible for general accounting and process oversite. This position will assist with monthly closings; preparation of the monthly financial statements; maintaining schedules and subsidiary ledgers; and various special duties as assigned. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller, with reporting to finance leadership for various projects.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following:

Standard and ad hoc reporting

Bank reconciliations

Investment account reconciliations

Balance sheet reconciliations

Journal entry reviews

Month-end close

Financial statement review

Supporting non-finance staff as needed

Special projects and support for Finance leadership, as needed.

Qualifications:

3-4 years of relevant experience

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Capable of working independently and connecting dots on varies work

Comfort with Accounting Data Bases

Comfort with Office 365

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Team-oriented, organized, and self-motivated work style

Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting
