Assistant Controller Department:

Vice President &Controller As part of Central Wire Industries, Loos & Co., Inc. produces stainless steel wire, mechanical cable, extruded products, and cable assemblies for a variety of industries along with government entities. As part of the Rope & Assemblies Group of CWI, Loos works hand in hand with division partners to ensure efficiencies and technical expertise to a large customer base. General Purpose of the Position: To provide financial reporting, costing and financial services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate financial information. Responsibilities will include analysis of results, budgeting, audit support, inventory oversight, and ensuring financial integrity of the operation. This position will work on special projects directed by the Chief Financial Officer or Controller creating financial efficiencies and product placement across all CWI companies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing actual production costs and recommending changes Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures Making estimates of new and proposed product costs Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services Assisting in Month end and Year-end close of the General Ledger Oversee physical inventories and monitor cycle count program Provide Operations / Supply Chain with inventory insight to minimize stock levels and slow moving / obsolete inventory Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls Coordinate with departments and compile and review all financial information and prepare special reports and perform appropriate research Position Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or CMA professional designation. Must have a strong accounting/financial analysis background; excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
