Travel: 5-10%
Location: Corporate Headquarters in Newbury, OH. Preference: onsite with some flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs, and coordinates all accounting operational functions, including mentoring and development of the members of the North America finance team.
- Manages the accumulation and sub-consolidation of all North America financial data necessary for an accurate accounting into consolidated group business results.
- Develops a process and procedure led methodology to foster both robust internal controls and provide opportunity for workflow improvement.
- Supports the Corporate Controller & Assistant Treasurer with end of period group sub-consolidation, cash and working capital management, and material into consolidated financial statements.
- Collaborates with other key members of the finance leadership team.
- Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual (for actual reported results, forecast and budget) operating statements to business team leaders, creating points of insight and providing clarity in support of decision-making.
- Manages credit control, balancing good stewardship of receivables to customer management needs, providing periodic credit plans for key customers. Works on credit management policies.
- Manages inventory and cost accounting, creating improvement to decision making with activity-based costing into standard costing methodology.
- Creates team development for sustaining function, embracing change, problem solving and leverage AI and automated workflows.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business discipline.
- Recognized global accounting qualification, CPA or equivalent required.
- 3+ years in a mid to senior level accounting role, operating as a Controller, Finance Manager or Director.
- 3+ years working in a multi-location, multi-geographic business, ideally in a manufacturing and distribution group.
Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP reporting, and experience of working in a group environment preferred.
- Experience within credit, taxation, cost accounting/inventory needed.
- Self-starter with an ability to manage through others, with strong work ethic and a commitment to consistently deliver to reporting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and people skills with a strong commitment to team environments.
- Analytical ability to assess and resolve technical problems, with demonstrated problem solving experience, and a transforming view.
- Operates well under pressure and tight time limits, with ability to prioritize.
