PRINCIPAL STRATEGIC ALLIANCES OFFICER ,

Koch Institute (KI) for Integrative Cancer Research , to forge and advance partnerships with biotech companies, pharmaceutical and venture capital groups, academic partners, and clinical organizations to accelerate biotechnology development and other strategic partnerships. Responsibilities include working with KI leadership on setting objectives for and managing all aspects of collaborations; working with faculty to gauge collaborative opportunities and strategic focus areas; establishing connections with local industry, clinicians, and strategic partners; identifying and reaching out to venture capital groups; synthesizing materials and representing KI at conferences; providing presentations, tours, and remarks to a variety of constituents; cultivating engagement opportunities; assisting faculty with patent applications, licensing, and start-ups; developing overall faculty engagement strategy; working with internal centers/programs to identify topic-specific opportunities to partner with industry/biotech; setting overall objectives for and managing inter-institutional partnerships; and maintaining records. Job Requirements

REQUIRED : bachelor’s degree in a biological/biomedical scientific discipline; five years’ industry, academia, or nonprofit experience in molecular or technology research or experience as a representative interfacing between industry and academia; proven skill with visioning strategy and experience fostering and managing clinical, translational, or basic research programs in biomedical sciences; knowledge of academia research principles, research integrity, intellectual property policy, and partnering processes with industry/corporate sector; strong communication and interpersonal skills; and ability to work with internal/external partners and stakeholders and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. Seek someone with proven leadership and negotiation skills who is goal-oriented and able to grasp and synthesize complex issues and identify solutions, prioritize and make timely decisions, build and manage collaborations, and work as part of a team.

PREFERRED : advanced degree and knowledge of cancer research.
