Deploys and configures software applications within public Cloud environments -- Amazon Web Services (AWS). Programs and implements application components using Python, Go, and NodeJS. Builds automation pipelines using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools. Maintains Kubernetes platform to facilitate containerized applications across multi-Cloud experiences using Kubebuilder. Automates with scripting languages, including Python and Shell scripting. Develops Internet Technology (IT) processes and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) building and supporting Cloud native platforms or on-premise data center support for the banking and financial services sector.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) year of experience as a Principal Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) building and supporting Cloud native platforms or on-premise data center support for the banking and financial services sector.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and developing enterprise Cloud-based security solutions using Amazon Cloud Computing Services - Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), and Identity and Access Management (IAM); and developing custom cross account IAM roles from Kubernetes pods to AWS, Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), AWS Relational Database Service (RDS), and Elasticache services for application teams, using Python and Terraform.

DE designing and developing efficient and scalable corporate technology group applications written on AWS platform, using EKS and S3; providing Kubernetes Cluster security support using DivvyCloud and Datadog; monitoring, developing, quality assurance engineering, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) production clusters and cluster upgrades, using Jenkins, GIT, CloudFormation, Shell Scripting, Artifactory, and Concourse.

DE monitoring and maintaining the operational stability of application services within AWS, Azure, Cloud development, and quality assurance production environments; creating custom dashboards and metrics for EKS platforms to identify and remediate issues using Datadog monitoring tool; and monitoring Kubernetes cluster health across Kubernetes clusters to provide stability and high availability for applications running in EKS production using Datadog.

DE designing and implementing custom Cloud security controls that impact and scale across multiple Cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, and EKS); and developing controls using Python, GitHub, and Jenkins, and knowledge of Cloud security principles and security posture.
