**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE****:**

* HS Diploma or GED

* Minimum 1 year of experience in public contact/customer service.

* 1 year of relatable supervisory experience

* Demonstrates knowledge in basic trauma informed care (TIC), Mental Health First Aide, motivational interviewing, and conflict resolution/de-escalation techniques

**SCOPE OF POSITION****:**

Within the Seattle Social Services Department of The Salvation Army, the William Booth Center Shelter Programs/Frontdesk Supervisor, is responsible for all the same duties as the regular shelter monitor (CMA) staff to include: completion of various assigned tasks including, but not limited to: scheduling client intakes via telephone referral, conducting client interviews and processing client intake data, and conducting security rounds. Works closely with residents of the William Booth Center. Whether providing basic needs services, or de-escalating negative client interactions, the position receives daily supervision from the William Booth Center Director or designated management staff.

In addition to regular duties, the Shelter Programs/Frontdesk Supervisor, will be responsible for all supervisory responsibilities associated to shelter program operations and Frontdesk management to include: acting as liaison with referral partners to ensure contractual obligations and client needs are being met, shift scheduling, payroll preparation, reporting sick and vacation, ensuring staff trainings take place as assigned, ensures TSA and WBC policies and procedures are followed, coordinates shift adjustments as needed. This position is under direct supervision of the William Booth Center Director and cooperates with the full chain of command. This position receives daily supervision, with direct consultation available on complex matters. This position provides administrative support to the WBC Director, and assists with the training and on-going support of staff assigned.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES****:**

* Under direct supervision of the WBC Director, duties will include responsibility for supervision of the shelter monitor (CMA) staff and operational administration

* Under direct supervision of the WBC Director, provides contract oversight and policy guidance for WBCs referral partners

* Demonstrates working knowledge of emergency resources.

* Assists with the monitoring, evaluation and facilitation of changes in operational and administrative programs to ensure compliance with policy, contractual and regulatory requirements

* Assists as needed in hiring, assuring adequate coverage of permanent, temporary and on-call shelter staff

* Provide direct supervision and training for staff assigned

* Attends and participates in all staff meetings.

* Conducts regular shelter program staff meetings

* Ability to conduct and oversee direct client services

* Provide policy and procedure guidance to subordinate staff

* Provide supportive care to residents experiencing personal crisis

* Respond to emergency situations that may arise, making decisions within policy guidelines, as necessary

* Provide crisis intervention and institute security procedures should a critical or threatening situation arise

* Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities and program effectiveness

* Receives referrals from local agencies and coordinates application process

* Assists as needed in discharges in close supervision and coordination with shelter staff

* Ensures regular practice of shelter programs public health safety protocols

* Provides advocacy for housing, public assistance and other services as needed

* Maintains department logs

* Creates and maintains physical files

* Cultivates and maintains network resources and linkages

* Attends public meetings as directed

* Maintains and updates contact information

* Generates reports on shelter programs as needed

* Ensures maintenance and cleanliness of shelter environment

* Maintains supply inventory and orders replacement supplies as necessary

* Prepares general correspondence as needed or requested

* Performs other administrative functions as requested

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

* Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
