Support Engineer Microsoft Contract

We are working with a government agency in Austin Texas to find a Support Engineer for their team.

The Support Engineer's responsibilities will include Desktop support, configuring operating systems and software Upgrades, using remote desktop connections to troubleshoot problems, all this while delivering outstanding customer service.

To be the right fit for this role a degree in a relevant field, like Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering would be awesome. That said, our client values experience so years of experience in a Support role is valuable, and strong Customer Service experience is vital.This will be a Microsoft environment ( Office 365 Government G5 ) so you will need to be familiar with the relevant tools in the Microsoft Suite.

This will be a six-month contract with the potential of a permanent position at the end. You will need to be based in Austin, or commutable to downtown. This position will be initially on site 5 days per week to bed into the role. It will shift to two days remote and three on-site in Austin working with the team in time.

Responsibilities

  • Identify solutions to software and hardware issues
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration
  • Track computer system issues through to resolution
  • Talk clients through a series of actions when required
  • Properly escalate issues to appropriate internal teams when required
  • Prioritize your work and manage several open issues at one time
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
  • Maintain good relationships with your clients
  • Deliver technical support in a Microsoft and Dell ( Hardware ) environment
