THE ROLE

The

GL

Accountant,

reporting to the Accounting Manageris responsible for providing professional accounting work related to the preparation and maintenance of financial records, the audit of financial transactions, and the production of reports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include: Responsible for the Assumed Reinsurance (monthly, quarterly and budget/forecast) reporting, intercompany reconciliation, and settlements. Reviews Quarterly Reinsurance Statements, confirms treaty compliance and provides activity commentary. Prepares DAC calculation (Monthly, quarterly, and Budget/Forecast). Books monthly Journal entries and GL account reconciliations. Updates monthly and quarterly Trial balances. Inputs CACIS CSI for the GROUP Finance department/Consolidation technical results. Prepares analysis for Statutory Reporting (e.g. UCC, LOC, YTD Income Statement PY comparison to CY. Provides monthly calculation of Unearned premium (UPR) and prepares quarterly forecast Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual accounting reporting. Maintains accounting controls and follows accounting policies and procedures. Assists in and completes Audit requests. Creates and updates SOP's.

Qualifications

THE CANDIDATE Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred. Minimum 1 year experience in Insurance/Reinsurance professional accounting work. Strong communication and organization skills. Ability to deal with numerous deadlines at the same time and work independently. Experience in using Oracle Financials highly preferred. Highly proficient in Excel. Ability to work a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote) to local office in Princeton, NJ or Toronto, Canada.
