Job Description/Daily Tasks

The Grants and Financial Coordinator provides administrative support for pre and post-award management of grants & contracts in the Division of Biology and Medicine. The Grants & Financial Coordinator provides financial and administrative grant support to the BioMed Research Administration (BMRA) more experienced office staff who will assume responsibilities for more complex administrative tasks related to proposal submission and award management. Responsibilities include proposal preparation and review, use of University and sponsor grants management systems, use of University systems for award set-up and reconciliation, manages and initiates subcontract by completing subaward order forms, amendment requests, and reviews sub invoices for accuracy. This position interfaces with University, BioMed academic departments, and Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), and the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) as required. The Grants and Financial Coordinator must be extremely detailed oriented, a problem solver with excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, ability to deal with faculty and staff in a strong service environment, have computer skills (working knowledge of word, adobe and excel), possess the ability to work under pressure of deadlines, assist with implementing processes and performing tasks that will ensure successful management and improvement of BMRA office, familiarity with Brown University a plus. This position will provide general office support services for the department and will assist in ad-hoc projects as needed. This position will have a developing role in Workday as needed.
