JOB SUMMARY:
The Janitorial and Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing janitorial and light maintenance services at Community Forward SF facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled janitorial work.
  • Sanitize bathrooms and sleeping areas as needed.
  • Perform light-duty repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain security of all janitorial/maintenance supplies.
  • Regularly update designated staff members on the inventory status of all job-related tools and supplies.
  • Inform the team about any repair work needed in the facility.
  • Support CFSF's mission to promote stabilization, hope, and healing for adults experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and external partners to meet shared goals.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Training and meeting attendance.
  • Ability to reference work request software.
  • Other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:
  • Adequate literacy skills; reading comprehension required.
  • Experience and knowledge of accepted janitorial practices.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively.
  • CPR and first aid certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year janitorial experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be in good physical condition to perform job duties requiring frequent use of the entire body.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently required to complete tasks in an environment where interruptions may be constant and background noise is present.
  • Ability to move throughout buildings including stairs, between buildings, and out in the community.
