The Janitorial and Maintenance Specialist is a vital member of the Community Forward SF team, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled and unscheduled janitorial work, including sanitizing bathrooms and sleeping areas as needed.
- Perform light-duty repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
- Maintain the security of all janitorial and maintenance supplies, and regularly update designated staff members on inventory status.
- Inform the team about any repair work needed in the facility, and support CFSF's mission to promote stabilization, hope, and healing for adults experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.
- Work collaboratively with team members and external partners to meet shared goals, and adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required, and demonstrate a strong ability to reference work request software.
- Adequate literacy skills, with strong reading comprehension.
- Experience and knowledge of accepted janitorial practices, with a minimum of 1 year of janitorial experience.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively, with strong communication skills.
- CPR and first aid certification within 90 days of hire.
- Must be in good physical condition to perform job duties requiring frequent use of the entire body, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
