Additionally, the Associate Director will conduct research to identify potential donors, solicit contributions for affinity projects, and administer program logistics. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, event management expertise, and a passion for nurturing connections within the Whitworth community.

Alumni Engagement | 40% Manage relationships between Whitworth and its alumni & parents in Spokane and in Whitworth’s other engagement regions (Western Washington, Tri Cities, Oregon, California, Colorado etc.) Create and steward vocation-oriented connections & programs between students and alumni/parents With Director of Strategic Engagement, manage regional and affinity groups Travel a minimum of once/month to grow relationship with Whitworth alums, identify, grow and cultivate a pipeline for future involvement with WU Manage correspondence with constituents about any facet of Whitworth Build on existing and develop new local corporate connections for Whitworth Special & Regional Events | 20% Provide leadership and direction for Whitworth's signature event, President’s Leadership Forum Operate as an alumni event driver & creator in Spokane and in Whitworth’s priority regions Write all event-related communications, including promotional text, confirmation emails, surveys, etc.

Digital Engagement & Communications | 20%

Contribute as writer and editor to the development of communications designed to build relationships among alums & parents With department colleagues, strategize & execute digital engagement (text messaging, email, social media, webpages, newsletters etc.) Collaborate with academic departments & programs to streamline communication to WU alums

Student Engagement | 10% Develop, plan, promote and implement student engagement programs, activities and service Partner with campus colleagues to build programming for students Ready the student body to become “Whitworthians for Life”

Research, identify, cultivate and solicit a pipeline of affinity project donors and prospects | 10% Prepare cultivation strategies for assigned donors and prospects by identifying strategic initiatives that fit their interest areas. Recruit and steward donors for affinity and special giving projects Work to achieve President’s Club, scholarship and affinity project fundraising goals for an assigned portfolio Write gift proposals, donor correspondence and internal communication on a regular basis

Program administration | 5% Coordinate regular meetings for alumni & parent volunteers and for internal partners Maintain program budgets, data tracking and procedure manuals

Other | 5% Assist with special projects and department events Perform other related duties as assigned Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree
