The Wound Care Nurse Manager Provides evaluation, teaching and training to staff, members/family or designated representatives on wound care management.

Job Duties

  • The Wound Care Nurse Manager collaborates with physicians and Chief Medical Officer to develop treatment plans for members with active wounds according to current wound care protocols.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of current wound treatment plan and provides appropriate follow-up, direction and instruction to staff, members/family;
  • Provides educational in-services when necessary.

Education

Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred

Experience & Skills Required

  • Three (3) years of experience in an Acute Care setting required.
  • Staff development or adult instruction, and/or home care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Department of Health and Managed Long Term Care standards for home care required.
  • MS Office required. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, or employees of the organization.
  • Must be willing to travel to Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk County.

Certifications

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License required.
  • Current Wound Care Certification.
