Position:Architectural Sales Rep

Territory:- Chicago, Illinois

Location: Chicago Metro Area

Position Summary:To implement current sales strategies and drive specification position for Nichiha products with the Architect, Specifier, General Contractor and Installer community while working in a team environment.The architectural sales rep manages product promotion to influence the design and specification process and position Nichiha's products for use on commercial and residential projects while effectively utilizing their time and resources to increase sales output.This position will work closely with the Georgia territory sales manager and the southeast regional reps.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively develops relationships with architects, interior designers, spec writers, owners and developers to increase preference and demand for Nichiha AWP products and system
  • Influence the specification process with Specification Writers/Creators
    • Build a prominent specification position for Nichiha products
  • Maintain a designated customer and prospect database (CRM)
  • Identify projects where Nichiha has been specified or submitted
    • Use Dodge Data to prospect influencers and projects
  • Communicates and collaborates within the Southeast Sales Team and other sales teams across the country when necessary.
  • Increase market share by driving specs within all aspects of the commercial market including multifamily, education, retail etc.
  • Document all activities in Salesforce.com
  • Present AIA/CES courses to Architects
    • Assist in development of new AIA CES offerings
    • Provide feedback on current AIA/CES offerings
  • This job involves frequent meetings with clients and attending trade shows, such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). These shows offer presentation opportunities and education seminars that you will be required to attend and lead
  • Participate in regional design organizations and promotional/trade show activities
  • Coordinate market intelligence on product, program, shipping and market segments
  • Collaborate with other Nichiha personnel as required to provide in house technical assistance to specifying architects
  • Launches and promotes target products and programs within the AED community
  • Assist in Product Development
  • Gather information on competitive activity and prospective strategic directives
Professional Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline strongly desired
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in B2B environment at the architect and design level (building materials sales preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with clients and maintain a robust client database
  • Proficient in face-to-face sales
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivator, and work independently
  • Ability to create product and technical presentations
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • General understanding of the construction process
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blue prints
  • Experience using Dodge Data
  • Experience using a CRM tool (Salesforce.com preferred)
  • Understanding of social media trends
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
