Additional Details: Shift differentials given for evenings (7%), nights (12%) and weekends (7%)

Who We Are:
Saint Joseph Hospital
was founded in Denver in 1873 by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth as the first private teaching hospital in Colorado. Today, it remains the largest private teaching hospital in Denver. The hospital provides a tradition of healthcare that includes compassionate caregivers, stellar clinical expertise and active clinical partnerships with Kaiser Permanente, National Jewish Health and community physicians.
Saint Joseph's new state-of-the-art hospital opened in December 2014.
Scope:
Sonographer responsibilities:
Produce high quality ultrasound images and obtains appropriate measurements for each exam.
Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation.
Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly.
Obtain and evaluate pertinent patient history and physical findings that may affect the sonographic examination.
Explain procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.
Monitor during all phases of procedure with special care taken to insure patient emotional and physical well-being.
Communicate patient information in a professional and courteous manner to patients and to referring physician offices as required.
Maintain the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensure proper equipment maintenance and equipment safety.
Calibrate and maintain equipment and order supplies when needed.
Schedules and coordinate tests.
Prepare and maintain operational logs.
Assist with Quality Assurance/Improvements audits and activities as required.
Qualifications:
ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry. The ARDMS must include successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and, vascular).
Basic life support (BLS) certification, issued by American Heart Association
Ultrasound experience, preferred.
RVT Certified, highly preferred.
