Job Description
- Produce high-quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam.
- Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation.
- Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly.
- Obtain and evaluate pertinent patient history and physical findings that may affect the sonographic examination.
- Explain procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.
- Maintain the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensure proper equipment maintenance and equipment safety.
Scope
The scope of this role includes:
- Producing high-quality ultrasound images and obtaining appropriate measurements for each exam.
- Recognizing the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and providing the best image quality for documentation.
- Documenting all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly.
- Obtaining and evaluating pertinent patient history and physical findings that may affect the sonographic examination.
- Explaining procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.
- Maintaining the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensuring proper equipment maintenance and equipment safety.
Qualifications
- ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry with successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and vascular).
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association.
- Ultrasound experience preferred.
- RVT Certified highly preferred.
Location
This position is located at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
