Meter Services Supervisor

The** Meter Services Supervisor **is responsible for performing supervisory work related to meter service activities to include supervising meter reading and schedules, notifying customers of past due bills, monitoring work orders and routes, and coordinating with billing and customer service staff. Work requires limited supervision and independent judgement and discretion.

- Supervise meter technician staff by prioritizing and assigning work
- Conduct performance evaluations and ensure that employees follow policies and procedures, maintain a healthy and safe working environment, and ensure staff is effectively trained to perform all assigned duties.
- Perform interviews, terminations, and disciplinary recommendations with direct supervisor’s direction.
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of the meter technician staff which includes planning, developing, coordinating, administering, and evaluating projects, processes, procedures, systems, and standards; planning and administering work flow; and ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.
- Supervises and coordinates the termination of utility services of non-paying customers.
- Supervises the completion and/or rescheduling of assigned work orders.
- Compiles and reviews a variety of work orders, work sheets, reports, and/or other related information.
- Collaborates with billing staff in scheduling the routing and installation of new meters.
- Participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, and/or other related groups to receive and convey information.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of reports related to operational activities.
- Schedules division vehicles for routine maintenance.
- Performs field inspections to ensure the security of meters and parts.
- Asset management and maintain inventory control.
- Order meters, meter parts, and equipment for operations within allotted budget.
- Assist in budget preparation.
- Provide excellent customer service for escalated issues in the field.
- Supervise temporary fire hydrant meter inventory program and coordinate installation, moving, and removal of all construction meters with staff, management, and contractors.
- Supervise and coordinate annual meter testing program.
- Supervise leak detection and water conservation efforts.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- High school diploma or equivalent required plus additional specialized training in related field
- “C” Water Operator License
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record
