**Job Summary**:
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Academic & Career, the Director of Football Academics will provide leadership for all academic and career support provided to Football student-athletes as part of the overall Badger Built team. This individual will be the main point of contact for Football coaches and staff, and will provide supervision and direction to the team of individuals providing academic advising, learning support, and professional readiness. Responsibilities include leading support team operations, coordinating communication and reporting, implementing efficient systems and processes, providing strategy in recruiting, and supporting an identified group of Football student-athletes with individualized plans for their academic, personal, and professional growth.

This individual will receive, process, and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including meeting and communicating regularly with coaches and administrators, while maintaining confidentiality (FERPA) and adhering to NCAA, conference, athletic department, and institution policies and procedures. This individual will prioritize collaboration with colleagues on campus and in the community, as well as engagement with prospective student-athletes and families on recruiting visits. Occasional evenings and weekends are expected, and additional administrative duties may be assigned.

**Responsibilities**: Leads one or more major operations of the academic advising unit and assists in the development of strategy, policy, and protocol. Administers services and cultivates relationships to support student academic progress within a school or college, to ensure that all students receive quality academic support. Represents the director when needed and strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
- 20% Leads one or more major operations of the advising unit and plans and directs staff implementation of academic services, related programs, and other events
- 10% Assists in the development of strategic planning initiatives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources, and alignment with the strategic plan
- 10% Assists in the development of operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives
- 5% Reviews and makes recommendations for exceptions to academic policies, procedures, and requirements for students
- 20% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- 5% Maintains expertise with advised curriculum and may assist in developing and recommending exceptions for policy and curriculum
- 5% Serves as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders to maintain campus partnerships
- 5% Participates in the campus-wide advising community, providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college
- 15% Advise students and provide information about educational options, academic requirements, and appropriate institutional resources
- 5% Maintain confidentiality and accurate student records and processes, and responds to academic inquiries according to established institutional and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policies
