General Laborer

Small apartment management company is looking for a full Summer Laborer/Helper to join our team and work for approximately 3 months ending when school starts back up. The job will be:

- Helping with construction and repair projects
- Helping remodeling bathrooms and kitchens, repairing sheet rock walls, masonry repair, flooring repair (wood, tile and vinyl) and painting. (We are expecting you to learn how to do these on the job)
- Cleaning construction sites and bringing garbage to the dumpster
- Helping with tenant problems
- General apartment prep between tenants (moving furniture, repair, painting)
- Various maintenance projects around the building, the building is a 100 year old silk mill.

You will be working for the Maintenance Manager. Most jobs will be with other people we have a team of 4 here, but you will not always be supervised, you must be able to complete a job if left alone to do it.

No experience is required; we will have work in multiple fields that we can teach you; Framing, sheet rock, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, masonry, appliance repair, finish carpentry. Painting and spackling experience is very helpful. We expect the employee to be realistic about what they can do and what they have not. If you have no experience expect to start at the bottom of the salary range.

The applicant should be able to communicate with tenants (via phone and text) in a business-like manner. Must have phone and reliable transport. We try not to work over 40 hours a week, but OT will be offered during the busy periods (the summer). After hours work is not required in this position. You will be working in one location 95% of the time. You should be able to lift and carry 50 lbs, like a bag of cement by yourself or moving a couch or sheet of plywood with someone.

*This is a Full time position, but we can accept applicants if they are just looking for work over the summer.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
