General Dynamics Land Systems is a prominent entity in the design, development, and production of military vehicles, including the Abrams Main Battle Tank and the Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles.

POSITION: HEAT TREATMENT/PLATE LABOR GRADE: 06

The role involves setting up, operating, and managing heating apparatus, such as heat-treating furnaces and flame-hardening machines, to temper, harden, anneal, or heat treat metals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage controlled atmosphere heat treat and normalizing furnaces.
  • Load and position components while ensuring optimal furnace operating conditions.
  • Operate induction heat treating machinery.
  • Handle plating tanks and equipment to apply metallic coatings through electrolytic deposition.
  • Immerse components in cleaning solutions and place them in plating tanks.
  • Occasionally manage hazardous waste materials.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Person.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and operational documents.
