**Description**
Performs clerical and administrative functions for the department.
**Responsibilities**
- Answers the telephone
- Makes patient appointment for physicians (computer scheduling),
- Routes clinical questions and emergency calls to clinical staff or physician according to established policy
- Greets patients, obtains and verifies patient information and enter them into our computer by using eClinicalWorks Computer System
- Reviews patient’s paperwork for completeness and requests any missing information.
- Create and updates patient records accordingly
- Pick up daily Mails,
- Observes strict confidentiality in dealing with callers.
- Updating patient record as necessary. Refer to Manager questions re: patient’s insurance policy.
- Provide coverage for office clerk when needed to assist putting patient into the examination room
- Prepare charts for next day’s patient appointment for all physicians
- Prepare and send welcome package for new patients for all physicians.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $24.76 - $26.70 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
