It is an exciting time at the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) as we continue to undertake our mission of providing good, nutritious food today and food to enable brighter futures. On an annual basis CAFB distributes about 40 million meals worth of food through a network of hundreds of partners across the DMV. We know that creating long term solutions to food security requires more than meals. It requires education, training, and collaboration across the public, private and social service ecosystems. **Description**:
**Essential Functions**:
- Collect, review and maintain site meal reports entered into Link2Feed, our data management system
- Manage regional program budget, providing projections and reforecasts as needed
- Conduct federally required site visits for program compliance
- Prepare monthly claims for expenses and reimbursements, in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Strengthen relationships with external partners by participating in workgroups, following up on issues, and acting as a liaison between the Capital Area Food Bank and site staff
- Communicate with food service vendor to ensure regular meal service for sites
- Plan and prepare for semi-annual and as needed site staff trainings
- Work collaboratively with Regional Afterschool & Summer Meals Manager and Coordinators to determine best practices and improve the efficiency and quality of the program
- Regional outreach & engagement to identify areas of need and potential opportunities for program expansion
- Collaborate with local hunger advocacy groups and community coalitions
**Requirements**:
- AA degree + 1 3 years of work exp in a related field.
- Knowledge of DC community and federal nutrition programs strongly preferred
- Must have reliable transportation
- Excellent communication & organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work professionally with a diverse constituent base
- Present a professional appearance and demeanor
- Commitment to the mission of the Capital Area Food Bank
**Work Environment**:
- Physical activities involve sitting for up to 70% of the work day
- Ability to travel to sites throughout the Washington metro area
- Ability to lift food and supplies up to 40 pounds
- Working environment includes office, warehouse, and community
- Monday Friday 40 hours per week including evening hours as needed for site reviews

**Schedule**:
Normal working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday - Friday
**Compensation**:
Compensation is $23-25/ hourly
