**Overview**:
As the SEO Content Manager, your primary goal will be to ensure new and existing content is on-brand and uses the brand voice, is optimized for search engine rankings while breaking down complex topics into easy to understand language, and to manage the workflow of publication from creation to final draft with different contributors. You will work with a team of passionate world class marketers who are focused on delivering an exceptional experience for customers and strong results for our business in a high-performing environment.
**What you'll bring**:
- BA/BS, Marketing, Business Administration, Computer Science or related degree. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3-5 years SEO experience and Marketing.
- Strong CMS experience, including editing, creating, and publishing content on a CMS, as well as experience with Schema markup to drive rich results.
- Strong experience with SEO research tools and analytics platforms (Google Search Console, Adobe, Tableau, Keyword research and Ranking tools, others) Experience creating or editing content based on keyword research and content gap analysis.
- Ability to perform keyword/trend research to identify targets and to translate these into topics for writers.
- Proven experience in developing and contributing to SEO content strategy.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Google and other search engines and SEO best practices including site hygiene, URL practices, publishing processes, crawling/indexing, E-E-A-T, Core Web Vitals, and more.
- Knowledge and experience with AI a plus: GenAI, Chat GPT, Bard, etc.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present ideas, updates, and results to business partners on various levels.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective written, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience collaborating with agency partners and many teams to get work done well.
- Enthusiasm & energy to stay current on the latest search marketing trends.
- Experience and enjoyment in working in a team environment.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for driving results.
**How you will lead**:
- Understand TurboTax’s service offerings and business goals, partnering closely with SEO managers, tax experts, agency partners, and other teams to expand our search presence by contributing to our content strategy to drive awareness and consideration for TurboTax.
- Perform keyword research, content gap analysis and audits, and optimizing for Google rich results (schema types), including driving on-page recommendations to optimize for organic rankings with a primary focus on Google’s E-E-A-T ranking factors, including but not limited to headers, images, meta data, internal linking.
- Hands-on review and editing of content in a CMS (text, videos, infographics, audio content) and optimizing for all device types (desktop, mobile web, and mobile app) to ensure it adheres to our brand’s voice and tone, as well as for readability, grammatical errors, and factual accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with tax experts to manage a content review schedule and ensure work is delivered on time, as well as content deliverables/timelines with agency partners for content creation and publication in season.
- Manage creation of editorial calendar and workflow between teams and agencies to build new content and update existing content, including topic ideation, building content briefs, keyword targets, and ensuring all content is on-brand, reviewed, approved, and published in a timely manner to meet business goals.
- Review and edit content to improve readability, including but not limited to, writing key bullet summaries, takeaways, hot tips, image optimization, and more.
- SEO expertise optimizing internal links, featured snippets, and schema markup for rich results to improve rankings and maximize organic search shelf space.
- Experience optimizing content for distribution via paid content syndication or other partnerships to maximize both the customer benefit, and the SEO benefit, including keyword optimization, link optimization, meta tag optimization, and more.
- Support content performance reporting and insights throughout the season, including performance insights, what’s working, what’s not, as well as competitor monitoring.
- Support podcast and audio creation with external and internal partners, including paid media campaigns to drive awareness of this content.
- Evaluate and identify new content opportunities to prioritize for creation and help drive fast experimentation and learning, including video.
- Passionate about content and SEO, stays on top of industry trends, reads the latest search engine news, and helps to communicate relevant news to the team.
