**Mission Statement**:

SCIDA achieves this mission by utilizing the powers granted to it by New York State that provide financial assistance to qualified projects. This assistance can include conduit bond financing, lease/leasebacks, and exemptions from taxation, and support to other organizations with similar missions. The Board and staff of the SCIDA will carry out this mission guided by the tenets of transparency, integrity, and accountability.

**Overview**:
The Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency (SCIDA) is seeking an experienced Administrative Coordinator to assist the Director to carry out the Agency’s mission.

**Position Description**:
The Administrative coordinator of the Agency shall assist the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer in the carrying out of the Agency’s Mission Statement and in fulfillment of the Agency’s public purposes under the IDA Act and the PAAA. The Administrative Coordinator shall also perform all other duties customarily incident to the office of a public benefit corporation and public authority of the State of New York and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned. The Administrative Coordinator shall be the Chief Compliance Officer of the Agency for the purpose of ensuring that the Agency is in full compliance with all provisions of the PAAA applicable to the Agency and the IDA Act.

The Administrative Coordinator assists the Director in planning, organizing, and implementing efforts related to business attraction, expansion, and retention. Occasional evening attendance at networking events.

**Specific Job Responsibilities Include**:

- Provide comprehensive support to include report preparation, documentation, and presentations for the Executive Director
- Monitoring and reviewing pending legislation to determine the impact on the IDA and the county.
- Ensure that all legal requirements (SEQRA review, public hearing, background checks) are complied with.
- Manages compliance activities involving the New York State Comptroller’s Office, the New York State Authorities Budget office, annual independent audit, and any applicable regulatory activities.
- Oversee Marketing and PR consultants and coordinate marketing efforts to include press releases, social media, and website maintenance.
- Other responsibilities as initiated by the Executive Director.

**Qualifications**:
(a) Graduation from a college with federally authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least five years of experience in public sector economic development and/or including continuing professional development in various aspects of economic development and/or management.

(b) Graduation from high school and ten years of public sector economic development and/or including continuing professional development in various aspects of economic development and/or management.

(c) Satisfactory equivalent combination of the above experience and education.

Strong business acumen, problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Excellent interpersonal, networking and writing skills, including experience with preparing public presentations.

Strong, strategic relationship building talent and communications skills in a variety of forums from public meetings to interviews with CEOs.

Ability to work independently. Ability to work successfully with several different constituents and handle multiple tasks.

Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and provide prompt follow-up.

Strong computer literacy required (MS Office Suite - outlook, word, excel, power point).

Notary Public a plus or willingness to acquire at the Agencies expense.

**Compensation**: The starting salary for this position will range from $70,000 - $90,000+ depending on qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits will include participation in the NY State Retirement System, medical insurance, and dental insurance.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
