**Duties**:
At the full performance level, major duties include:

- Serves as a primary point of contact for the NCDA -Deposit Insurance with the FDIC Call Center (located in the Division of Administration), which is responsible for answering basic deposit insurance inquiries received from bankers and consumers.
- Supports the tracking, recording and monitoring of deposit insurance inquiries, consumer complaints and consumer protection inquiries in the Enterprise Public Inquiries and Complaints (EPIC) system, which is used by the Branch to record and track complaints and inquiries received from consumers, bankers, and others regarding consumer protection and deposit insurance matters.
- Help the Section Chief and senior staff in the development of strategies and initiatives to increase awareness among consumers and the bankers regarding FDIC deposit insurance and the rules governing the amount of coverage provided for individual deposit accounts.
- Assists in identifying and implementing new means and methods for distributing deposit insurance information and tools to the public and banking industry.
- Aid in the research and development of written guidelines, brochures, and other resources developed to help bankers and consumers understand how deposit insurance coverage works.
- Assists in the preparation of management reports, briefing materials, and conducting research on consumer affairs programs and deposit insurance issues with a broad view toward measuring performance, detecting trends and potential prob1ems, revising existing procedures, or responding to senior management information requests.
- Responds to written and telephone inquiries from bankers, consumers and others concerning complex aspects of the FDIC's rules and regulations for deposit insurance coverage.
- Develops and maintains professional contacts and working relationships within and outside the Division to assist in the gathering of information, research and evaluate issues and trends, and develop strategies for meeting the goals and objectives of the organization.

**Qualifications**:
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. **To qualify for CG-09,** applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 7 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in responding to inquiries and researching information on deposit insurance.

EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR

COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-09 level.

**To qualify for CG-11,** applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 9 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in responding to inquiries, researching and interpreting information on deposit insurance.

EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M., if related.

OR

COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-11 level.

**To qualify for CG-12,** applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 11 grade level or above in the Federal service.
