**Staff Psychologist/Behavioral Health Supervisor** **20 hrs/week**

The **Staff Psychologist/Behavioral Health Supervisor** is responsible for leading the behavioral health team, as well as performing psychological assessments and providing brief evidenced-based treatment to adults in a primary care setting. The team is currently based on the AIMS model, an integrative care model that incorporates behavioral health in the medical clinic setting. This licensed clinician works closely with primary care providers to develop and implement sound treatment plans. Responds to and provides crisis intervention services when needed, and ensures behavioral health services are delivered in a culturally appropriate fashion and are consistent with State of Pennsylvania laws and regulations, professional standards of care, agency guidelines, and professional ethical guidelines.

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Evaluates/triage and provides evidenced-based, brief psychological/behavioral health interventions to patients with physical health, mental health and/or substance abuse diagnoses.
- Performs brief assessments of patient needs and, with patient and primary care clinician, develops a negotiated care plan.
- Provides consultant services to clinical staff/ primary care providers including but not limited to timely feedback regarding the client’s care, treatment recommendations and progress via documentation in the client’s record and verbal feedback.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation in in the electronic medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
- Evaluates and/or revises care plan as indicated with appropriate documentation in progress notes and communicates this to relevant multi-disciplinary team members.
- Performs crisis interventions as needed including but not limited to conducting suicide assessments and make recommendations to medical providers and patients; determine if crisis response services are appropriate for patient safety.
- Manage behavioral health staff - to include time off requests, performance reviews, and performance counseling if necessary. Supporting them in their duties and helping them understand policies, procedures and protocols.
- Recruits and manages behavioral health volunteers.
- Recruits, selects, and supervises masters and doctoral level interns in counseling, psychology, and social work. Maintains relationships with local graduate programs to facilitate recruitment of interns who can provide counseling and other services to behavioral health patients.

**Minimum Qualifications**

1. Licensed to practice psychology in the State of Pennsylvania. Minimum one-year experience and knowledge in primary care preferred. Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required. Maintain appropriate CPR certification, licensure and malpractice insurance.

2. Experience in individual counseling and assessment, knowledge of behavioral medicine, and evidence-based treatment for mental health conditions.

3. Should be comfortable with the pace of primary care while working with an interdisciplinary team.

4. Demonstrated knowledge of psychopharmacology.

5. Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic conditions, including motivational interviewing.

6. Ability to effectively manage and support all behavioral health staff.
