Job Description
The Demand Planning Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining product sales forecasts for assigned customers using a range of inputs including statistical forecasts, historical sales data, customer sell through and direct input from Sales. The Demand Planning Manager works closely with the Supply Planning function coordinating ongoing demand and new product introductions. The Demand Planning Manager will participate in the on-going development and improvement of tools and processes. The Demand Planning Manager will have direct reports and provide effective leadership to all the demand planners.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Maintain forecasts for assigned customers and products.
- Through effective communication with Sales, Product Management, and Buyers plan for promotional and ongoing needs of product.
- Develop and plan for new product introductions, product transitions and end of life dispositions.
- Generate reports and evaluate data, including customer sell through, forecast consumption, safety stock review, and order fill rate.
- Research forecast discrepancies.
- Analyze shortage and excess reports and make proactive recommendations to avoid or reduce occurrences.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Business curriculum, or equivalent experience
- 5 years of Inventory Control and Planning experience preferred
- Detail oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Exceptional computer literacy, especially Excel, and effective communication skills
- Effective communication skills
- Understanding of Accounting and Finance principles
- Oracle experience a “plus”
