- The Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC) Planning and Operations team handles campus services such as security, emergency preparedness, maintenance, custodial, motor pool, and utilities. - As our Security Supervisor, you will provide daily operational oversight of the unarmed physical security function on campus. You’ll also provide direct support for emergency preparedness, CCTV systems, events, access control, parking, and other areas of need.

Core tasks include scheduling, training, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) writing and maintenance, record and log maintenance, and staff mentoring. Providing exceptional customer service to all is an essential task.

Due to the nature of our educational environment and commitment to the safety of campus, the position may be expected to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

The campus is a 30-acre urban medical and bioscience campus with more than 1.7 million square-feet of biomedical-related research academic, and clinical facilities with plans for more than 6 million square-feet at build out. It is the only site where you will find all 3 of Arizona's public universities in one location conducting and collaborating in research.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Works under the direction and guidance of the Emergency Preparedness Planner.
- Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness in recommending solutions to problems and challenges.
- Assures proper execution of duties of the Security Guards.
- Provides exceptional customer service and ensures the same standards are upheld for all Security Guards.
- Oversees and coordinates the work of Security Guards.
- Coordinates Security Guard scheduling.
- Maintains data entry daily logs and other recordkeeping for the department.
- Responds to emergency calls, works with local law enforcement as necessary, and completes detailed reports following the incident/interactions.
- Greets and welcomes incoming visitors to campus and provides information in a professional courteous manner.
- Patrols assigned areas of campus on foot, checking for fire or safety hazards, vandalism, maintenance issues, suspicious activity and persons.
- Follows established procedures and guidelines to maintain the safety and security of the university's employees, students, visitors, and property.
- Recommends, develops, and implements new procedures when needed.
- Provides and coordinates initial and on-going training to Security Guards.
- Assures Security Guard compliance with all applicable University policies, department Standard Operating Procedures, and state and federal law.
- Assists in validating accurate staff time reporting.
- Investigates incidents that occur on campus as needed or directed.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- High School diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Proven experience as security supervisor or similar position.
- Experience using relevant technology and equipment.
- Experience in emergency preparedness planning & response.
