BlueStar is a boutique management firm focused on supporting developers, asset managers, and community Boards in the successful operation of their resort and golf amenities. Our expertise is in all aspects of hospitality management, including golf, spa, food & beverage, community clubs, and more, particularly in active adult or age-qualified residential communities. We also provide full-scale landscape services in some locations. Our portfolio spans literally from coast to coast, with many beautiful locations in between.

**Benefits**:
New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.

Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (“PTO”) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:

- The Communications Specialist supports the Marketing, Lifestyle, Communications, and Retail (MLCR) team in the development of internal and external communications for the BlueStar Resort & Golf network of facilities. The Communications Specialist plays a critical role in the creation, development, and distribution of content for various platforms and channels, but most prominently our Members only communication platforms. The primary responsibility is to ensure that content is accurate, complete, engaging, timely, and aligns with the respective goals, brand identities, and target audiences.

To be successful in this role, the Communications Specialist must value style, precision, accuracy, time management, and hard work. This position reports to the Associate Director of Marketing, Lifestyle, and Communications and provides support to all members of the MLCR team.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
- Create a productive and enjoyable work environment to inspire, motivate, and lead by example, with the intention to recognize team member performance.
- Lead the training efforts of new team members as it relates to Member Communications platforms and processes.
- Copywriting for online and print marketing, communications, and branding materials, including presentation creation, ad campaigns, website copy, training materials, branding and marketing collateral, and other content as required.
- Manage the development and completion of the _#MyTrilogyLife Magazine_, in collaboration with the Associate Director of Marketing, Lifestyle, Communications.
- Participate with the MLCR team by attending meetings and conference calls to review workloads, set priorities, and assign tasks.
- Provide administrative and general office support.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, or related field strongly preferred.
- Two or more years of related experience and/or training, preferably in an agency environment; supervisory experience preferred.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- WordPress, or similar content management platforms required; basic knowledge of HTML preferred.
- Experience with graphic design preferred.
- Photography and video skills preferred.
- Effective writing and proofreading skills required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Must be flexible and adaptable.
- Must be creative and innovative and also willing to work with existing standards and procedures.
- Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Must demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
- Must be able to pay attention to multiple details and be comfortable working in a fast
- paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
- This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, with limited travel required.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
