Quality Control Manager

**Job Purpose**:
This hands-on role reports directly to the VP of Quality, Compliance, and Manufacturing Excellence. This position requires solid skills in Quality Management, that will enable the company to make decisions and implement actions ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, that with the parallel goal to continually improve the business’s overall quality and brand performance in the market.
**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Be the internal site resource concerning applicable government regulations related to the plant’s manufactured products.
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with quality management systems, identify non-conformities, and in coordination with the Continuous Improvement team, recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage the site’s Quality Control team, including delegating and directing work and managing performance.
- Maintain accurate records to comply with company and customer record retention requirements
- Determine, develop, and monitor inspection and verification techniques to meet product design requirements, including new product releases for prototype and production products.
- Help build a culture of Quality, fostered by training, facilitation, and the implementation of effective Quality Management Systems
- Develop and Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control procedures, standards, and regulations to ensure understanding and adherence across the organization.
- Monitor and create action plans to meet key business metrics including Customer Complaint Reduction, First Pass Yield improvement, Scrap reduction and Cost of Non-Conformance reduction.
- Manage quality incident reports for the site and drive appropriate actions, including but not limited to, communication of corrective actions and approval of remedies that instill a culture of responsiveness and root-cause corrective action related to customer and quality-related issues.
- Manage customer feedback and complaints by investigating root causes, implementing corrective actions, and communicating with customers to address concerns and maintain satisfaction.
- Drive standards and adherence to the controlled document process for the business
- Drive creation of, adherence to, and accountability for, quality standards for the MA production and distribution sites.
**Experience & Skills Required**:
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing setting with 3+ years in a dedicated quality role
- Training and Experience in Lean Manufacturing
- Knowledge of quality standards, Quality Management Systems and experience with other industry/government-specific standards or regulations.
- Strong technical skills and ability with MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
- Management experience with the ability to motivate direct reports and influence stakeholders
- Tenacity and energy in leading change towards an effective work environment
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ability to communicate in a persuasive and credible manner at all levels of a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills and process focus
- Attention to detail and ability to weigh regulatory compliance, customer requirements, and production demands to ensure best outcomes of potential priority conflicts.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in quality management
- Progressive, flexible and team-oriented person required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment with the ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams, internal and external customers.
**Education**:
- BS degree from an accredited institution.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
