Purpose

To provide academic advising services and programs in individual and group settings. Provide accurate and timely information on course and degree options to a diverse population of students. To advance our core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide academic advising for a caseload of approximately 400 students: have command of and be able to communicate the requirements and academic options which help facilitate the student’s pursuit of a field or fields of study
- Present academic-oriented material through the facilitation of small learning cohorts, new student orientation, and workshops: co-lead weekly Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs) during the fall and possibly spring semesters and be a student leadership mentor to FIG Mentors
- Perform special project duties and assist with other activities as assigned: oversee multiple repeat attempts for Mathematics, Physics, & Astronomy courses; assist Mathematics Department with course management issues including prerequisites, seat demand, and registration sequencing
- Attend meetings, participate in professional development opportunities, and serve on committees, other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS

Required Qualifications

At least 4 years working with college students in an academic counseling capacity with a bachelor’s degree. At least 2 years experience in counseling, group work, assessment and administration of student academic programs with a master’s degree.

Salary Range

$45,000
