Communications Operator provides communication service by operating a telephone console within the current PBX in order to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as well as relaying the proper page information throughout the health system.

**Qualifications**:

- Required:_

**Scheduling Requirements**:

- Day Shift
- Per Diem

**Essential Functions**:

- Answers in-house calls for page requests and announcements.
- Answers outside calls and relays the proper information.
- Clearly announces over the paging system for easy understanding.
- Demonstrates complete knowledge of console equipment.
- Demonstrates the ability to screen calls and relay to the proper
- Handles telephone calls and requests with proper etiquette.
- Interacts with proper personnel when there is a system problem.
- Maintains proper log of calls processed.
- Pages all emergency codes properly (Code Blue, Code Red, Code Gray, etc),
- Supplies in-coming calls with proper information when no connection.
- Uses in-house beeper system properly.
- Verifies accuracy of equipment and reports malfunctions.
