**Reports to: Director of Development**

**Employment Status: Full-Time**

**Hours and Schedule: 35 hours/week; Monday-Friday Some flexibility, weekend and evening hours may be needed.**

**Location**:This position is in-person, working from Spring Creek Towers in East New York, Brooklyn.

**Summary/Description**:
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Manager will be responsible for development operations, supporting the execution of the Opportunity Hub’s annual fundraising plan to meet revenue targets, and managing the organization’s marketing and communication efforts. The Development Manager will regularly work directly with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Development Committees, the Opp Hub’s leadership, staff and the Starrett City community. The Development Manager should consistently exhibit The Opportunity Hub’s core values, including a high degree of professionalism, an understanding of life-long learning, and using a strengths-based approach.

**Responsibilities**:
**Development Operations & Fundraising (75%)**:

- Work closely with the operations team to reconcile income reports and receivables.
- Support and maintain website operations for The Opportunity Hub.
- Support Fundraising events, which may include some early morning, evening, or weekend assignments.
- Assist with research and prospecting for individual/major donors, corporate, and foundation support.
- Complete special projects as assigned, including developing and launching fundraising campaigns such as Giving Tuesday, Year End Appeal and peer-to
- peer giving, as well as assisting with the completion of LOIs, introduction letters and 1-pagers.

**Communications and Marketing (25%)**
- Develop and write compelling stories about our services and impact, including supporting the creation of The Opp Hub annual report, as part of a larger communications strategy.
- In partnership with leadership, create and deliver a social media strategy that establishes our brand, builds awareness of our services, and increases engagement.
- Coordinate and publish monthly newsletters for donor and stakeholder groups to share upcoming events, highlight success stories from staff and participants, and generate interest.
- Conduct additional outreach as needed using Mailchimp or a similar e-marketing platform.
- Ensure all public-facing materials and communications follow The Opportunity Hub’s branding and communications guidelines.
- Manage organization, centralization, and sharing of photo and video assets.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or transferable related work experience.
- 5-7+ years of relevant nonprofit, fundraising, communications, event planning, social media, marketing, or philanthropic experience.
- CRM/Fundraising database experience or relevant database management preferred.
- Experience developing online fundraising and e-marketing campaigns.
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work independently and self-directed on tasks and projects, while also as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse stakeholder population.

**Compensation**:
The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year and is commensurate with experience.
