Home At Last CDC is looking for strong, caring, and passionate individuals to join our team. We are a non-profit organization that specializes in housing homeless individuals experiencing homelessness. We operate shelter-based services 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Our objective is to provide a safe and suitable living environment to individuals experiencing homelessness and provide them an opportunity to independently sustain housing through a trauma informed care lens.

Home At Last CDC is currently looking to fill multiple positions for morning, swing, and overnight shifts.

**General Responsibilities**
- Ensures the safety of participants, guests, and property.
- Assists the serving of meals as appropriate.
- Address any behavior issues that create disharmony, criminal, or otherwise.
- Completes written reports and incident logs of daily activities and irregularities.
- Ensure all logs are completed in their entirety and filed away.
- Answer the main office phone system.
- Assess client needs throughout participation in any programs.
- Must complete live scan/background clearance
- TB Clearance required
- Familiarity with homelessness and related issues a plus
- Work a flexible schedule (weekends and evenings)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under stressful situations
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
- Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and ethical standards and judgement

**Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions)**

This position is responsible to work in a “client friendly" environment and is required to be located at a homeless shelter as part of their duties. Local automobile travel is required. There is some responsibility to work in noisy environments where adults are present. PPE Gear is provided by HALCDC and must be worn at all times.

**Physical Requirements**

Typically spend time sitting, standing, typing, thinking, writing, walking, driving, lifting (max. 50 lbs.), listening, speaking.

**Mental Requirements**

This position will require the individual to be able to handle any/all of the following: constant distractions, interruptions, uncontrollable changes in priorities / work schedules: be able to process information, think and conceptualize

**Schedule**:

- 8-hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

**COVID-19 considerations**:
All clients are covid tested
All staff is required to always wear mask while at facility or when around clients.

All staff is required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or be tested on a weekly basis.

**SKILLS**:Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills. Must be computer literate (Word, Microsoft Excel, Gmail, etc.)Must be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work with other employees, clients, vendors, and the public.

**EDUCATION**:High School Diploma Preferred. Relevant life and/or work experience will be considered in lieu of HS Diploma.

**Work Location**: Multiple locations in South Los Angeles and Van Nuys.
