**Overview**:
Charles County Department of Social Services is seeking a skilled Facilities Assistant to join our team. As a Facilities Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the facilities of our agency. This is a full-time position that requires communication and computer skills as well as experience in facilities maintenance.
**Minimum Requirements**:
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience performing clerical duties.
Notes:
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- At least one year of experience providing facilities maintenance
- Demonstrated computer literacy
- Experience working with automated systems, e.g. WASP and FleetMaster.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, i.e. MS Word and Excel
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
**Duties**:
- Maintains the fleet system and ensures that the agency's fleet is in good operating condition.
- Maintains accurate records of all fleet and building maintenance, using computerized maintenance/management systems.
- Maintains the agency's physical inventory
- Maintains communication with building management personnel to ensure that needed repairs and/or requests are fulfilled promptly.
- Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies or urgent requests
- Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders
The Facilities Assistant position is a contingent position employed by Tri-County Council of the Lower Eastern Shore and functions with the local Department of Social Services.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $16.74 - $16.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
