We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Charles County Public Schools. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and care for floors, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing.
- Collect refuse both inside and outside the building, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
- Dust and clean walls, windows, ceilings, and equipment, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
- Care for the exterior of the building and grounds, including landscaping and snow removal.
- Assist in the receipt and relocation of supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Regularly attend meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read and write effectively, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor, with the ability to lift, carry, and move light to medium weights (10-50 pounds).
- Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and manipulate objects.
- Visual acuity to use a keyboard and other equipment.
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with students, staff, and visitors. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and attention to detail.
