Gather Wine Bar - Dogpatch is an upstart passion-driven, fresh concept wine bar in the growing/popular Doptach/Central Waterfront neighborhood. We are a small team of guest-centric individuals with diverse experiences (from hospitality, retail, wine, sales/marketing) promising to deliver a concept that brings our neighborhood guests the ease and pleasure of gathering at a curated and welcoming neighborhood lounge but accentuates and differentiates by breaking down guest barriers to experiencing, selecting and enjoying beautiful wines in an easy, comfortable manner with simple, easy to execute accompanying food.

Our mission is to offer our community a comfortable gathering spot where our guests can fluidly taste and explore beautifully crafted wines from around the world. all at a value that defies their expectations and coupled with an experience that opens minds and tickles the spirit.

We expect to offer up a connected guest experience that delivers on a wine lovers' need for the tasting and experiencing beautiful, approachable wines at rational prices with simple, delicious and easily plated food and other beverage accompaniments (which make our served wines more pleasurable). We intend to operate in a manner that benefits both our staff (ease of flow and operation) and our guests...while still being intensely human and humane with each other. Our environment is designed to be welcoming, comfortable in every manner (sound management, seating, ergonomics and more) for both guests and staff.

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking an experienced, growth and hospitality-minded individual to join our team as a General Manager/server and future Equity Partner for our concept-breaking wine lounge. As a key player on a small team, you will play an important role and have a hand in the operational decision-making, setup, growth and success of Gather Wine Lounge - Dogpatch where we seek on behalf of our guests, to eliminate the barriers to enjoying beautiful wines and simple, artisan dishes, while enjoying a comfortable, hospitable and lounge-like environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and manage key aspects of the business, including a significant role in on-site operations, management of inventory, revenue and expenses, input on marketing and wine selection and our focused beverage program.
- Play a primary/lead role in serving and educating guests behind and in front of bar and table side with other team members (we are located in a small/intimate space where your positive engagement is crucial to the guest experience)
- Lead a consistent but simple-to-execute manner of guest service and engagement and hold that standard with team members for the benefit of both staff and guests.
- Monthly input on strategies to enhance guest experience in all aspects of service
- Monthly input on building revenue growth and profitability while ensuring a consistent
- Management of quality standards including food preparation (no cooking/hood on site) and cleanliness
- On occasion help to recruit, train, and manage additional staff members, including conducting interviews and providing ongoing coaching and development.
- Conduct diligence/share experiences on other highly regarded wine bar competition and to stay on top of new/best practices.
- Willingness to travel once or twice yearly for wine experiences/relationships that help us build and maintain our brand connection
- Maintain positive/professional and organized relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other business partners and to manage the procurement and expediting of goods to and from these vendors with solid record keeping.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous years experience serving guests (behind and in front of bar) receiving/communicating orders, plus using a full-service digital POS system for food and beverage service.
- Experience with serving and a developed personal preference for drinking both red and white wines both regionally (west coast U.S.) and internationally. Ability to comfortably communicate the basic characteristics of a wine selection and present insight on its origin, terroir and the winemaking team behind it (as needed).
- Engaging, comfortable style of communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate discussions as necessary with guests and to manage and assist with any conflict resolution.
- Ability to thrive in both a relaxed and moderately paced lounge environment and ability to shift to a fast-paced environment for busy evenings and private events.
- Knowledge of basic kitchen management, setup, service flow and basic food service operations. Comfortable plating and setting up stable (non cooked foods) as necessary.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a relaxed/comfortable manner.

**Compensation**:
Compensation is a combination of salary, gratuities and profit/revenue
