Duties

This position is located under the Office of Field Operations, Field Management Staff, Frontline Investigative Support Branch located in Washington, District of Columbia.

The Incumbent supervises the Frontline Investigative Support Branch (FISB), oversees all monitored case matters, and is competent to conduct quality control (QC) reviews, as well as supervises personnel, reviews work products, develops, and implements FISB policies, and oversees investigative reviews on the behalf of ATF. The incumbent performs complex, in-depth studies and/or directs and coordinates task forces or working groups on significant law enforcement issues. The incumbent also coordinates between the field divisions and the Deputy Assistant Directors for Field Operations in executing the Monitored Case Program (MCP).

**MOBILITY PLAN**: New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement. **Key Requirements**:
Time in Grade requirement must be met by the closing date of the vacancy.
Requires proficiency with a firearm per ATF's Standard.
May be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.

**Qualifications**:
This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience include:
Advising teams on investigating crimes leading to arrests, conducting interviews and interrogations of individuals, and preserving and documenting evidence.
Reviewing investigations for use of proper technique, organizes and tracks results.
Evaluating existing policies and guidance to ensure investigations remain compliant.
Collecting information for briefings to Senior Executives to provide an overall status of Field Operations.
