Job Summary:
DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Executive Staff Assistant with the Assistant Director’s Office. This position serves as the Executive Assistant to all administrations within the Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department’s business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Lends technical guidance and administrative expertise. to the Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) of the Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility.
- Designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating organizational objectives for the Division.
- Establishes and maintains liaison with program administrators and their operations as well as with other divisions and departments within the State to assure program goals and objectives are met.
- Authority to assign projects and work assignments to the program administrators on behalf of the Deputy Assistant Director and monitor the completion of assignments.
- Initiates business reports, research projects, formal recommendations, and solutions for the resolution of problems related to personnel management, operating procedures, budget development and control, and organizational planning. Activities will include the development of tracking matrices and writing responses to state and federal audits.
- Gathers statistical data to formulate and prepare a variety of technical and administrative reports and presentation materials representing the goals and achievements of the Division.
- Develops, maintains, and publishes project status reports to communicate project progress, status, and risks. Serves as the central point of contact for project communication or questions. Uploads project documentation and submits status reports as required. Develops and delivers presentations as requested regarding project progress and updates.
- Assists with project plan development, standardizes central file structure for master document, tracks follow-up/due date status, and obtains project updates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Selective Preference(s):

- Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration or a related field.
- Well-developed knowledge of division goals, directives, and policies as acquired through internal training and special assignments.
