The Office of Labor Relations (OLR) is currently recruiting for a Labor Relations Specialist I to join the Labor and Employee Relations team.

**About the Office of Labor Relations**:
The Office of Labor Relations negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements; manages joint labor-management initiatives and programs; oversees processes that address workplace disputes; coordinates disputes and appeal procedures involving non-bargaining unit employees; manages the County's relationships with labor organizations and the general workforces; provides early intervention strategies in workplace disputes; implements personnel policy and personnel regulation changes; maintains and analyzes demographic statistics.

**About the Position**:
An employee in this class is responsible for the administration of County and union grievance procedures, review of adverse actions for merit and procedural compliance, and provides guidance and assistance to County employees and managers on a full range of labor/employee relations issues.

**Duties include but are not limited to the following**:

- Provides support during term negotiations of collective bargaining agreements, to include scheduling, planning, note-taking, coordinating, and administrative needs in preparing council packages and final collective bargaining agreements for execution.
- Coordinates and schedules meetings (to include grievance meetings, mediation, and ADR) while enhancing the process to ensure the most efficient and productive meetings and the best result and resolution while delivering the highest-level of customer service.
- Participates in and supports department
- level bargaining, including research, note taking, drafting contract language, coordinating bargaining logistics, and coordinating post-negotiations review and implementation.
- Conducts research on labor and employee relations issues, and assists in the development of, and the delivery of labor relations training inclusive of formatting, scheduling, documentation and collaboration with other departments.
- Coordinates, administers and supports labor programs and activities; coordinates, supports, and participates in joint labor-management committees and initiatives.
- Assists with OLR projects and technical functions such as the automation of labor and employee relations functions to include internet/intranet maintenance; newsletter delivery; and the maintenance and organization of documents/files.
