**Job Summary**:
The Arts Outreach and Engagement Coordinator is a liaison between the Division of the Arts and communities on and off campus. This position coordinates key outreach and engagement programs and builds an infrastructure of positive connections that support strong relationships with campus partners and with the local creative industry and community.

The Division of the Arts is an administrative unit that reports to the Provost's Office. Led by a faculty director, the Division of the Arts advocates for, connects and elevates the arts at UW-Madison. We support and promote the missions of the academic arts departments and affiliated partners, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, deepen the student experience, build community engagement, and advocate for inclusion, diversity, equity, and access across the arts.

**Responsibilities**: Organizes the development and delivery of outreach programs, including the responsibility for staffing. Assists with policy development and organizes resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
- 10% Directs the implementation of program policies and procedures
- 20% Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships to promote the outreach program
- 30% Schedules and secures logistics and resources in support of an outreach program
- 15% Schedules day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
- 5% Identifies opportunities for program improvement or new outreach program development
- 10% Assists with coordinating activities and providing facilitation for ongoing and new engagement initiatives
- 10% Monitors the program budget and approves program expenditures

**Tasks**:

- Represents the Division at partner events in the community and on campus in order to seed mutually beneficial relationships and collaborations
- Coordinates student funding programs, including Activism Student Action Program, Arts Business Competition
- Coordinates Arts Together events to build community among faculty, staff, and students
- Supports signature Division events for faculty and staff such as Arts Forward Together and Creative Arts Awards by creating engagement opportunities
- Develops and implements strategies to engage arts student organizations
- Assesses and makes recommendations for the Division's affiliate program
- Oversees student and community sponsorship requests and fulfillment
- Supports the "Arts for Everyone, Everywhere: Interdisciplinary Arts Outreach Initiative" project through May 2025
- Supervises student interns working in the area of student engagement, ensuring they contribute to the work of the Division while also building professional skills

**Qualifications**:
Required:

- At least 1 year of professional or volunteer experience engaging or serving members of the community
- Ability to interact positively and build relationships with people of diverse educational, professional, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds
- Strong commitment to and professional, personal, or lived experience related to increasing equity, diversity, inclusion, access, and belonging
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize, balance, and follow through on multiple, simultaneous projects and responsibilities with strong attention to meeting deadlines
- Ability to collaborate with a team, including effectively organizing and communicating using excellent written, verbal and active listening skills
- Ability to provide clarity, structure, and support for student interns
- Ability to plan and successfully run public events
- Flexibility to work on evenings and weekends

Preferred:

- Experience or demonstrated aptitude in gathering and analyzing data and assessing program success
- Knowledge and appreciation of the arts
- Ability to speak a language in addition to English (ideally Spanish)

**Work Type**:
Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
