**Role Overview: GED Coordinator**

The GED Coordinator is instrumental in helping students achieve their GED or HSED, steering them towards fulfilling their educational and career goals. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities:

- Program Management: Effectively manage and coordinate GED/HSED programs to ensure that they meet educational standards and student needs.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong, supportive relationships with students, aiding in their personal and academic development.
- Career Guidance: Inspire and guide students in developing clear career pathways and connecting them with long-term career opportunities.
- Data Management: Oversee program data integrity and compliance with reporting obligations to maintain high program standards.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:

- Student Engagement: Recruit, pre-screen, and register new students; conduct placement tests and orientations.
- Instructional Support: Assist with class instruction and tutoring; develop academic and career plans tailored to individual student needs.
- Progress Tracking: Continuously monitor and document student progress, maintain weekly follow-ups, and support students in setting and achieving their goals.
- Resource Facilitation: Assist in resume creation, educational statement writing, and diploma validation, and offer guidance on utilizing educational and community resources effectively.
- Student Development: Encourage self-advocacy, connect students to employment opportunities, and maintain ongoing communication with graduates to support their continuous growth.
- Feedback and Improvement: Gather and analyze feedback from students and staff to refine and enhance program delivery.
- Marketing and Outreach: Lead dynamic marketing and outreach initiatives to enhance community engagement and raise program visibility.
- Partnership Building: Establish and maintain fruitful collaborations with key educational institutions like Madison College to strengthen program offerings.
- Operational Oversight: Manage all logístical aspects of the classes, from preparing orientation materials to ensuring seamless program execution.
- Communication: Maintain robust communication channels with staff and supervisors to keep them informed of student progress and program needs.
- Office Management: Maintain an organized and welcoming reception area, providing front desk support and ensuring efficient operation of office activities.
- Event Support: Play a key role in the organization and management of special events and activities, enhancing the overall program experience.
- Documentation: Support accurate data entry practices and prepare detailed quarterly reports to track program success and areas for improvement.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Solid knowledge of Language Arts and/or Math to be able to provide class instruction or tutoring as needed.
- Experience as instructor or facilitator.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive Suite: docs, spreadsheets, forms ; and ability to learn new software as needed.
- 3 years of relevant experience working with the community, adult education, workforce development, and/or diverse populations.
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree or four to six years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working and/or volunteering with nonprofits.
- Ability to work on delegated tasks with mínimal supervision, self-motivated, and able to handle several projects at one time.
