**Start Date**: August 2024

**Position Summary**:
execution of media-rich media marketing materials for the School. This position is three-quarters instruction and one-quarter marketing and communications. Additionally, this position is the designee in supporting all media-rich media related activities at Westmark School.

**Salary Range**:
$67,000-$75,000 depending on experience

**Responsibilities**:
General Westmark Faculty Responsibilities:

- Teach Media Arts classes to students with language-based learning differences.
- Have a high-level of understanding of special education terminology and research-based instruction.
- Submit weekly lesson plans.
- Integrate technology into the curriculum.
- Maintain the digital class LMS pages.
- Regularly update the grade book.
- Provide quick grading turnarounds for all students.
- Use behavior management systems that are effective with students with language-based learning differences.
- Provide a positive environment that encourages students to actively participate in their own learning.
- Communicate on a regular basis with Division Directors, department chair, and Advisors to discuss student progress.
- Model professional and ethical standards when interacting with students, parents, peers, and the community.
- Cultivate positive family partnerships.
- Participate fully in the life of the School, which includes collaborating effectively and collegially with a teaching team, grade-level, and department.
- Engage regularly in formal, ongoing professional development beyond school-based in-service.
- Support colleagues and the school by substituting for absent teachers when needed.
- Participate in meetings, committees, and community gatherings.
- Know, understand, and uphold the mission, philosophy, and values of the School. All teachers contribute to the School mission and community with activities such as supporting student social-emotional learning, interest groups/clubs, social events, and grade-level trips.

Media Arts Instruction:

- Teach five sections of Media Arts to Upper School students.
- Media Arts at Westmark include photography, film, and broadcast media.
- Oversee the development of the Media Arts program for Westmark in
- alignment with departmental and School goals.
- Plan and implement Media Arts curriculum.
- Coordinate curricula with other department and grade-level teachers.
- Be a consummate professional who strives to bring the highest-quality Media
- Arts direction and instruction for Westmark families.
- Participate in and attend all arts-based events including the Arts
- Showcase.
- Create and produce the annual Westmark Film Festival.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Marketing and Communications Work:

- Works directly with the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications
- to evaluate, conceptualize, and deliver required media arts materials.
- Provide video and photographic coverage of on-campus, in-classroom, after
- school athletics events and games, Theater Arts and Music performances, and other special project activities
- Produce and deliver finished promotional videos, slideshows, and other media-rich media deliverables for the School, including in support of general, admission, marketing, and development/advancement goals, as well as alumni and social events, and others as required.
- Projects may include support for some or all of the following events (determined by the Advancement department):

- Parent orientations
- Parent Bash
- Homecoming
- Divisional events and activities
- Upper School Play, Middle School Play, and Spring Musical
- Spring Gala
- Junior-Senior Prom
- Grandparents and Special Friends Day
- Commencement Exercises and other end-of-year ceremonies
- Other events and special projects as needed.
- Provide video and photographic asset management, sharing, and organization for all assigned projects.

**Physical Demands and Environment**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit in on meetings and work on a computer for long periods of time; and is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
