Overview

The Supervisor-Airport Code Enforcement supervises, monitors, and performs inspections and enforces tenant, capital improvement, and airport construction projects compliance with regulatory standards. Schedules and performs inspections to maintain or achieve minimum safety and compliance standards and resolves difficult technical problems as needed.

Essential Functions

Supervises, monitors, and evaluates inspections on airport properties, projects, buildings, tenant activities, and capital improvements to ensure compliance with all municipal, state, and federal regulations; ensures quality control, delegation of assignments, and follow up for violations.

2 Reviews inspections and identifies non-compliant concerns; oversees investigations of alleged violations and tracks corrective actions; takes accurate data and information concerning code violations and enforces code compliance.

3 Communicates and collaborates with airside and landside operations and other individuals to address code violations and make changes; performs follow up work and assistance as needed and provides knowledgeable guidance for staff.

4 Evaluates evidence gathered in support of violations and reviews documents and notices as appropriate; oversees files and code enforcement activities maintaining safety and structural standards.

5 Educates and provides information to airport personnel, tenants, and the general public; interprets laws and regulations while educating on laws regulations and code standards.

6 Remains up to date on all current code standards and changes in regulations; maintains certifications and attends professional development as needed and provides training to subordinate staff.

7 Performs extensive and professional inspections and addresses compliance and code violations; testifies in various hearings and trials for prosecution of violations of Dallas City codes, airport standards, and airside or landside regulations.

8 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of municipal, state, and federal aviation regulations.

2 Knowledge of inspection protocols, policies, and procedures.

3 Ability to determine code violations and suggest corrective action.

4 Ability to issue citations and communicate with various individuals, tenants, and airport personnel.

6 Ability to use computer programs, software, and equipment.

7 Ability to provide calm, professional, and excellent customer service.

8 Ability to supervise, oversee, monitor, and support inspection staff and related services.

9 Communicating effectively verbally and in writing

10 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of airport operations or code enforcement experience interpreting and enforcing codes and ordinances, investigating code violations and/or issuing citations.

AND- Two (2) years of supervisory/leadwork experience. (This experience may be included in the required experience listed above.)

EQUIVALENCY:
- Associate degree (or higher) in any field plus three (3) years of the required experience including two (2) years of supervisory/leadwork experience will meet the education and experience requirements.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.- Must have current license as a Code Enforcement Officer issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check.

Salary Range

$54,910.10 - $68,637.63

The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
