**Position Overview**:
The Special Events Coordinator at Conway Area Humane Society plays a vital role in the planning, execution, and success of both major and minor fundraising events. This position requires a dynamic and organized individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on animal welfare through e ective event management. The Special Events Coordinator will work closely with the
Executive Director and collaborate with a team of volunteers to create memorable experiences that engage the community and raise essential funds for our organization.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan, organize, and execute a variety of fundraising events, including but not limited to galas, auctions, walks, and pet-friendly gatherings.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop event strategies, budgets, and goals aligned with the organization's mission and fundraising targets.
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of dedicated volunteers to support event planning and execution.
- Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, catering, entertainment, and event promotion.
- Ensure events run smoothly by overseeing setup, registration, guest engagement, and post-event activities.
- Utilize e ective public speaking skills to represent the organization at events, engage attendees, and communicate the CAHS mission and impact.
- Maintain accurate records of event-related expenses, revenues, and participant data for reporting and analysis.
- Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, community partners, and volunteers.
- Plan events well in advance, maintaining an organized schedule and timeline to ensure seamless execution.
- Must create or oversee
- promotional materials, including social media content, press releases, and event advertisements.
- Demonstrate a high level of independence, motivation, and problem-solving skills to tackle challenges proactively.

**Qualifications**:

- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure flawless event execution.
- Nonprofit background is not required, if you have done event planning in a for profit role that is very applicable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable with public speaking.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of volunteers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft O ce Suite and event management software.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
- Passion for animal welfare and the mission of the Conway Area Humane

Society.
